米国における「高精度コンピュータ数」に関する特許取得のお知らせ

株式会社コアコンセプト・テクノロジー（本社：東京都豊島区、代表取締役社長CEO：金子武史、以下CCT）は、2020年12月に取得した「高精度コンピュータ数」に関する特許を、米国においても取得致しました。

特許の概要：コンピュータで科学技術計算を行う場合、実数を表現する方法として浮動小数点が使われていますが、この方法では必ず計算誤差が入り込みます。計算誤差をコントロールする方法がないため、プログラムが思わぬところで計算エラーを引き起こすことがあります。近年では、特に高精度な計算結果を求められることが多くなっており、計算エラーが深刻な問題になってくることが予想されます。この問題を解決する方法として、浮動小数点に代わる高精度コンピュータ数を発明いたしました。この表現方法では確実に計算誤差をコントロールすることができ、有効桁数もほとんど制約なくつかうことができます。

Arithmetic operation of definite numbers a.sub.1 and b.sub.1 of the computer numbers in which real numbers A and B are defined by formulas (1) and (2) is performed to determine an absolute effective digit .gamma. satisfying formula (3), A=a.sub.1+a.sub.2, |a.sub.1|.ltoreq.C.sup.ha, -C.sup.ea.ltoreq.a.sub.2<C.sup.ea formula (1), B=b.sub.1+b.sub.2, |a.sub.1|.ltoreq.C.sup.hb, -C.sup.eb.ltoreq.b.sub.2<C.sup.eb formula (2), (A,B)=(a,b).sub.1+(a,b).sub.2, -C.sup..gamma..ltoreq.(a,b).sub.2<C.sup..gamma. formula (3). a.sub.1 and b.sub.1 are definite numbers whose numerical values are definite, and a.sub.2 and b.sub.2 are uncertain numbers whose numerical values are uncertain; C denotes a radix; h.sub.a and h.sub.b denote extended high order maxes that are minimum extended digits satisfying |a.sub.1|.ltoreq.C.sup.ha and |b.sub.1|.ltoreq.C.sup.hb, and h.sub.a and h.sub.b denote high order maxes that are integers; and e.sub.a, e.sub.b and .gamma. denote the absolute effective digits that are integers.
